I would recommend anyone to write here only mistakes that you do when creating a website.

    • DO NOT copy the HTML code from other sites to create its own website.
    • DO NOT try to keep on the website the whole mass of animated GIFs, Flash, wallpapers, bars, sounds, scripts and other alerts.
    • DO NOT form a service in which is located a little of everything .... But if this is your first website you can only try.
    • DO NOT use gaudy, sharp or irritating colors that do not interact with each other.
    • DO NOT use to block the right mouse button and the cover strips browser.
    • DO NOT use frames everywhere but only when they are really only necessary.
    • DO NOT stretch the users to click on links that lead nowhere, it is better to have fewer ads on the site.
Do you have any things webmasters should avoid on website?

Do NOT over-optimize the site, or it will likely invite a Google penalty.
Do NOT load the site down with slow-loading features, or you may lose visitors who won't wait for it.
Do NOT make the site too awkward to navigate, make sure it is as usable as possible to the visitor.

Do not buy a domain, commit to hosting and spend time and money on it until you have created a business plan that proves that the project can meet its objectives.

They're all going to differ depending on the objectives. So first up, have a really good understanding of why you are doing the site - is it a hobby? is it to support a brand? is it to sell goods you produce? is it to earn money from affiliate sales, advertising etc?

There are lots of templates for business plans available - take a look at a few of them. The basics are looking at your competitors and seeing how easy/difficult it might be to gain traction. Will you have to have a huge online and offline marketing campaign or will good SEO be enough? Do you have the funds to support the project? Nothing worse than getting going and then failing because you don't have enough money for the final few steps.

business plan is all about researching your niche and knowing all the tricks in it, all the angles etc etc. when you know everything you're basically unstoppable and you have a clear advantage on current competitors who dont know stuff and on the new comers that always always think it will be that easy but always fail and this happens all the time.

No, what I'm saying is you have to have an objective. Monetization might be the worst thing you could do on the site if what you are trying to do is build a brand.

My number 1: Pick a niche you actually enjoy writing about otherwise you will become burned out very quickly. Too many people try to write about a niche just because it is a high paying advertising niche, even though they really have no interest in it.

Ensure that every page is oriented around some specific keyword. NEVER have a page that is merely a bunch of words 'in the general area.'

Another point: every page must have a clear pre-defined purpose: to capture a lead; or to sell a specific product; and so on.

I just returned from a Joomla Conference over the weekend, and one huge point one of the speakers made has stuck with me:

"Do not create a website with the sole purpose to create a community. Create a website to give an already existing community somewhere to come together."

Before you even think of creating a website you have to pick a niche. If the niche you have in mind is too broad then pick a sub niche. So for example you wanted weight loss - your sub niche may be "Lose Weight Before Your Wedding."

DO NOT buy a domain name that you think is cool but is not related in any way to the product or service you are offering.
