How strange. Why would you tell people to avoid these guys, and yet ask if anyone knows anything about them? I would think that before you tell people to avoid someone, you would have all the necessary information, instead of asking for information. Wouldn't that make more sense? This is a clear case of, I believe, putting the cart before the horse.

Well, I don't know anything about them or how they treat their customers so I can't speak in that regard, but I do know they are "sue happy". :)

They are starting a defamation suit because of this thread, not against the poster, but the forum owners. hehe

What they are currently seeking from me:
    • An apology from me
    • Publication of that apology somewhere
    • Not to "publish" similar things in the future
    • Monetary compensation
Riiiigggghhhtttt... let me get right on that one.

Oddly, part of their proposed resolution is not the removal of this thread (not that I would because it's against our policies).

Lawyers just love me I guess (Winn and Sims, Dale Mohlenhoff) . :)

I bought a domain with them, about a month or 2 ago, they emailed me saying it didnt go through after a few days. I was supposed to try agian. So there is someone behind there.. ;)

I dont think suing would be wise, this thread will now probably get alot more exposure.

Hey Guys i worked for Streamlinenet in 2003/2004 let me just say there was only me and the manager there!

    They did the following!

Charge people for extra's ordered but not give them until the customer noticed they were missing! they dont give a toss about you once they have your cash!

Charge your cards for renewals without asking! and bill you before checking your domain is free, so you obliged to take another domain, even one you didnt want!

They bill you for services that are free!

They dont use there own servers, they use www.fasthosts.co.uk

    By the way,

Hello Andrew! Its me Gavin, remember me, told you i'd get you back,

    Jerk LOL

I can recommend 1on1 hosting, GREAT company!

    Laters!

Avoid these people like the "plaque" - ha! best line ever.

If you are going to publically "get him back" then you gotta tell us what the fued is over..

By the way his name his Andrew Dollamore, and i have his business address for all interested and disgruntled customers!, payslip photocopies can be provided as proof of previous employment!

By the way Andrew matey, if you feel liking sueing me too ok cool, might i add though i'd have to be lying, and all we have to do is check order dates with when products where activated on the servers to see there is like gaps of 14 days+

So i'd think twice im sure Fasthosts would complie with a court case fully, dont you?

I just didnt like the bloke, ripping people off, low down jerk off :D

I too have a domain registered with them but have not yet put anything up on it.

I did get a letter through from nominet saying that the domain had been registered in my name - so they must be doing something ....

Maybe its about time i uploaded something to check it out...

Hi, now don't expect me to log up 100s of postings cos' I'm just here over Streamlinenet (although you never know!):)

I've been with Streamlinenet for six months now. I have their 2 year Home User Package. I use them for my site as a Professional pianist.

Why did I choose them? (a) price; (b) locality - only 50 minutes drive from me and I'm not scared of knocking on doors; (c) because their website and deals impressed me.

So what's the big deal? My uptime has in fact been better than a site that costs me an arm and a leg with VERIO. Just one or two little blips (usually around 9 p.m. GMT) when I'm trying to upload files.

Score 9 and a half out of 10 up to now as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, I've read the stuff on The Review Centre (the site managed from Lancashire, England), as I'm a regular contributor myself there, and just like here I have to say that I cannot fault Streamlinenet. However, all this talk (whether honest, malicious or otherwise I wonder?) does not give me great confidence to do further business with Streamlinenet (sorry, but this is a natural human reaction). But hey, I don't sit back and take what I hear as being Gospel. I've contacted them and asked them to view my post here, and comment back to me by e-mail on a personal Customer basis. I suggest we lay off these guys until we know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. I continue to recommend them 100% from my own experience.

It is late Saturday night here in the UK. I have just had a long, courteous, and highly satisfactory e-mail reply from Streamlinenet. They have also given me a phone number and invited me to address my concerns to them directly.

I have no intention of discussing a private e-mail, but I can only advise that people be highly dubious of both the integrity, decency and motives of SOME of those wishing to tarnish the Streamlinenet name.

No doubt someone will say that I am a 'set-up' on behalf of Streamlinenet net here. If they wish to do so then fine. I can assure you I'm not.

Once again I have to say that I am 95% satisfied with this Company after six months.

    Hi Pianoplayer!

Sounds great. I have only one question: how did you happen to "stumble" upon this thread?

I'd be very curious to see how Pianoman found this thread.
"No doubt someone will say that I am a 'set-up' on behalf of Streamlinenet net here. If they wish to do so then fine. I can assure you I'm not." This reminds me a little bit too much of the Viagra emails titled "this is not spam".

I don't buy it. Streamlinenet tried to sue Shawn and suddenly a very satisfied client comes in here

First of all let me test that my postings work as mysteriously I have tried to submit and been asked to log in again!

    Ok, so that works fine.

Now re: 'threatening to sue' (allegedly). This is something I'd not personally do with anyone. I prefer to talk things over with them. But this is nothing to do with me so it is not myplace to comment.

In May I found Streamlinenet through browsing. I opened a cheap account with them because it was cheap and they are based within driving distance of my home. As a regular writer on The Review Centre I then found out to my dismay that this was a very controversial Company as far as reports go. I have an account that is with VERIO NTT shortly up for renewal. I'm not going to pay these guys over 120GBP any longer for this service. On Saturday I decided to do further research on Streamlinenet. That's how I came across this Forum. I confronted Streamlinenet by e-mail with what was on this Forum. They have replied to me twice now on the subject. I have to say that if I were in the hosting business I'd be shutting down some of the sites they have had to contend with. Regarding the alleged ex employee I know nothing and am not interested.

If you want a New York Times Forum type argument, then I'm not the guy to take part. I just simply state my case and that is that. If you want to believe I am the Proprietor of Streamlinenet's 'great aunt by Uncle Walter's second marriage' then fine. Best Wishes.

I care less, you are the one who came in here trying to shut down the conversation. They also don't show the pricing on the front page. I didn't say I
" believe I am the Proprietor of Streamlinenet's 'great aunt by Uncle Walter's second marriage' then fine. " I simply expressed my suspicion that you were being asked to post here, it's very obvious from your style of writing. About your "mysterious logging out": go ahead and read a little bit in here, there have been issues like that. If you have come here to play games, I'm very happy about your intro sentence promising that you won't be posting here a lot.

Oooh, I rather like it here. There are some nice people who are also knowledgeable people. I don't understand what the last post is all about despite it having been edited God knows how many times, but I'm sure that the sea air must be nice where this person lives.
