avoid Duplicate content penalty tips

    To avoid Duplicate content penalty use following steps :-

    1. Consider blocking pages from indexing
    2. Use 301s
    3. Be consistent
    4. Use top-level domains
    5. Syndicate carefully
    6. Minimize boilerplate repetition
    7. Avoid publishing stubs
    8. Understand your content management system
    9. Minimize similar content

    Just come up with your own ideas and you'll do fine. For me, I still find similar ideas duplicate content. Though I'm no search engine, it really decreases my interest in a website if they offer content that have been repeated 1000 times all over the web.

    People get far too worried about duplicate content, as google themselves mention on the above page, there is not going to be any penalty unless they deem it to be a way to manipulate search engine rankings.

    I use duplicate content all over the place (my original content, but used in multiple places) and cannot recall the last time I had any issues, or problems with ranking or disappearing from the search engine results.

    Maybe it's because I do #3 in your list "Be Consistent"

    I consistently use duplicate content :)
