Aviva Directory added on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_web_directories please submit your comments
I feel Aviva is a strong enough directory - and produces enough original content to be listed in wikipedia.
All major directories fighting for PS are/have been listed in wikipedia. Though some deserve a listing and some don't. There's no question about how n why its listed, coz it deserves a listing there. That wikipedia page infact has become useful after listing Aviva.
added links are deleted on a regular basis though. As anyone can edit to add a link, you can also delete them too
Thats great - Congratulations Jeff.. It is listed among top directories like botw , joeant, yahoo, dmoz -- So thats really great.. Alive should also be listed.
I think Aviva deserves to be listed there. So too some others like 2yi and many others. That page is still too bare in my view. Wiki should wake up.
I think no directory with no free submissions option matches the term "internet guide" since you cant get a site listed unless you pay for it whether it is quality content or not. So meaningless imho.
You get out of business and life relative to the input, Aviva Directory has certainly worked very hard putting a lot of time and features into the Aviva Directory and deserves the recognition
Wiki has had its day IMHO. Since its so easily edited by anyone it has little value. There was a story on national radio the other day about it saying how you cant believe anything on there without further verification from other sources because of the ability to edit so easily.
Are you sure buddy? We arent talking abt a listing, we are talking abt a page dedicated to Aviva! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aviva_Directory -- Can anyone add this?
Search for this term: "cogober" (yes I know it is meanless) now you will get a page saying: No page with that title exists. You can create this page or request it. voila
Well said. As I stated on Aviva. Their directory belongs to the new breed of 'trusted' directories. The owners are savvy and keep in touch with the changing landscape of the 'net.
I don't think you can edit the actual article portion. The only thing you can edit are the "see also" and "external links" sections, but it's really no use from a SEO standpoint because Wiki made those links "nofollow". Too many people were spamming Wiki through the external links.
