I took a long break from DP, and back in the day those directories were the one listed in my title, plus a lot more that I can't remember, but they've been of great help to me. So... what are the directories to be listed in now?
Well, within the next 20 - 40 posts you will see every piece of crap Directory Industry has to offer. You better keep your sense if humor handy because some of offerings will be driving you crazy fastreplies
You're better off doing your own research now, its a bit different now in the directory world, changes, penalisations, recoveries, directories sold, directories abandoned, this forum abandoned by many directory owners, a new surge of fly by night types and networks too. Theres brand new pr5 directories that appear quite often, yes thats brand new pr5, lol
yes, that's the sort of pitching we get here mosttly... @Bebicul, times have changed but still a lot of those directories are around, perhaps they don't show up on dp nowadays. if those directories have worked for you in the past, why not give them a second chance and see if it helps. also, if possible you can post your feedback on them here,
Well, we are still going strong. Listings are still coming in. Been very consistent, and never miss a day editing. Been over five years now. Amazing. Seems there is still value in it, and we keep updating and cleaning results.
Are you saying that the ones in your title are no longer working? Don’t they still provide a backlink? I have not looked at them so I can’t really say. I like some of the cheaper web directories. Do a search on the search engines using different web directory related search terms. The start looking around the directory, does it have quality listings or just any old crap? If it ranks well and it has editorial standards and the review fee is reasonable you are well on your way. Age always makes a difference when I’m paying for a review. New directories come and go, most are built on dropped/fake domains. Anyway good luck with your search. Brian
Most of them were paid for 1 year, but the permanent ones still provide a backlink, sure. I have another question: there was a user in here, named Anon, I think, had a green guy as an avatar. Anyone remember what his directory was called? Pretty well known around DP. Ty, all, for the replies.
directorydump? http://www.directorydump.com/ anon is still around, i see him sometimes, perhaps he will reply you on this thread itself. but don't ask where he is, because he is always at a place where you don't want him to be
Congratulations on making your required 25 posts. Now would you care to make another and list these handfuls of great directories? Thanks Brian
I sincerely believe there are directory that are doing well just as there are webmasters who know how to handle them right. As far a Rob's (an0n) directory goes, I like DirectoryMix better than DirectoryDump...I'vent heard from him in a while though...should have went knocking on his door during my visit to Florida last week.
Lol... that's a 'shit' list. Its been included by the company in exchange of the 1000 something free links they wanted in directories way back in 06-07. Total crap!
Yap, they have at least 5 years old data... and yet surprisingly enough they are sending 20 – 30 visitors our way every month. fastreplies
