    I doubt they will stopped the free AVG as they are just too many competitors out there. People will just switch to other freewares.

    Just go to AVG and try to upgrade to 8.0. You will find that there is no option for free.

    Guys AVG HASN'T STOPED their FREE Edition. Its just that they are gonna end support and updates for AVg 7.5 Free edition. you can upgrade yours to the AVG 8 Free Edition.

    I did go to that link and there seems to be a scanner available now. But what about next month? In the pop up I received, they said they no longer support next month, once the 8.0 comes. Let me wait a couple more weeks and see.
