Avg 3000 page impression, $0.59 daily

    I'm looking for general advice rather than a review.

    As the title suggests, I'm not doing too well on the CTR. MarioKartWii.com is the site in question.

    I understand that I'm not competing in a niche, but am I right in saying that is pretty unacceptable revenue? Before I undertake big changes in the site, I wanna hear the opinions of whether the earnings are in line with the market that I am competing within?

    a lot of factors contribute for your state
    1.a forum always gets low ctr
    2. the niche you choose further creates problem for you

    i would suggest you to use a banner network instead

    Gaming and a forum, double screwed! Yeah, that site will never make money unless you get SERIOUS traffic, like 1 million UV a day, sorry about that.

    I'm with everyone else. Forums tend to do poorly because the members become ad blind rather quickly.

    On a positve note, try changing your ad placement around, blend it with your content more rather than on the top. Have you tried image only ads? this may (probably will in my experience) get you a higher CTR for the niche you are in.

    That is a bit negative :) You can make money with the gaming niche even with forums, you have to play around with ad placement, different style ads. I'm in the gaming niche, you certainly don't need 1 millions UV to earn money :)
