    I'm wealthy, so corruption can often work in my favor. Here in the U.S., everyone gets equally awful service at the DMV. If I could bribe a petty bureaucrat at the DMV $20 to get decent service, I'd feel ahead of the game. :D

    Violence in America isn't high. There are some parts of some cities which are bad due to some generally bad thinking on the part of both citizens and politicians.

    I've tried to bribe all sorts of people, just to see what they will do. It's hellishly difficult to bribe anyone in America.

    One time I was turned down by the hostess at some chain restaurant when I offered her $20 to seat our party early.

    Americans tend so strongly towards honesty that is seems strange at times to come back here after traveling extensively.

    Exactly my point. I highly doubt anyone from India or other average low cost countries will drive to America to work for $2k. Yes in MD in UK you get $2k per month. Not sure but in America something around $1.5k so there is no point.

    I wish I could blow them up. But that happens only in Indian movies.

    Here people are too accepting of power. The bureaucracy treat people as if they are slaves. And most people don't talk or do any thing against the rich and powerful. Even the police is corrupt. So there is not much of any use in approaching them either.
