Google Labs sent my father a test to see if he was smart enough to come work for Google Labs, thats how he got his job there - and on the paper it "implied" that the average IQ is 150+ for Google Lab experts. I don't remember the context, I just remember it... somehow it got burned into the back of my head when my dad showed me the application.

    Hope thats answers your question.

    Regards.

Edit - My friend just read over my shoulder and said "dude why did you know that, thats the most random and useless piece of information I've seen from you in a while." Haha -- anyway, like I said, it's 150+. That's just an average though, which means their ARE people working for Google with lower IQ ratings.

Having a high IQ doesn't necessarily mean you are creative. Internet marketers have the spark, the passion, to want to do it for themselves. I respect my fellow internet marketers far more than those that work for a corporation like Google. Working for myself is what IM is all about to me.

To be serious, its pretty normal, what makes them good is they have an excellent organized company to back them with great custom made tools, we are one man army. Given the infrastructure there are many great products and companies formed, best example is the number of companies Google purchased these guys had some better IQ which google was lacking :)

And I think the key is having both, and with luck maybe some common sense. I've beaten some of my smartest and most logical friends at chess because I'm "creative" ;)

And someone that thinks only in numbers may be a fantastic asset to the Google Team, it's also very important that they remain well rounded in other mental attributes, as IQ isn't everything.

However, taking into consideration the average posts here on Digital Point, it does seem that maybe the Google Teams may be a bit brighter on the average then us. Though, looking at the posts here, I must also point out that chances are we are a bit more creative. In the end I think it averages out nicely.

thats right, but this post is for those Google fans and employees.

Now let me tell this, we can easily beat the first and second level employees there! I had been there cleared all technical tests, interviews, but was not taken reason: i was not a complete 90% guy in my past academics, In the interview i had put some questions to them that they didnt had answers to :D

but when it gets to higher level of employees they are just excellent in ever thing

    rightly said.

i think you missed the point of my question. Google hires intellect to figure out how to weed SEO out. I think SEO is a bunch of voodoo which marketing experts concocted without actually knowing what the algorithm SE use. it might work but there are many factors which creative marketers cannot begin to fathom such as mathematics.
