Average CTR for #1 ranking for keywords based upon overture keyword numbers?

What do you all think is a good or average CTR if you are ranked #1 on any given keyword? Say Oveture, says your keyword was searched for 10,000 in a month, and you are ranked #1...what CTR should you expect?

I have seen as much as 5% CTR on my websites, which I think is low. But keep in mind, that what is overture 10,000 today, is actually last month's data, and maybe the number this month is more or less. So it's difficult to get a clear CTR. So many factors around it.

For a 100,000 searches keyword, I got 5000 uniques visitors one month and when next month the number changed to 94000, the total uniques from yahoo for that keyword was 6800+.

I know, but why is it sooooo low. I was thinking 10% would be a low number. Do you think the overture numbers are really inacurate? I would think so.

I did not understand the question properly.

Are you asking that, for a keyword for which overture is showing "10,000" searches and your site is ranked first (which SE), how many clicks you get for THAT KEYWORD from that searche engine (or all SEs)?

Is this what you are asking?

Here is thwe F.A.Q. from the keyword discovery webs site

Overture aggregates "like" results. So the Overture results will include terms that are similar:

    eg:
for the query "cheap international calls", Overture's data will include results for the following terms:

    "cheap international calling"
    "cheap international calls"
    "cheap interrantional call"
    "cheapest international calls"

Hence the greater number of results.
