I didn't reply to the guy's PM. Did all of you sell your avatar for $20 per month?

I would say that he certainly raised awareness of his site but we have to remind ourselves we are a small community. We are hundreds of us online at a time, thousands subscribed but there are hundreds of millions that don't come here.

I don't see this as a viral action has it doesn't spread itself unless he is paying you to go find him other avatar sellers. It's really just a form of guerilla marketing but not viral.

Well I gotta go make me a salarymap.com avatar and start PM'ing all of you a $21 offer for your avatar. ;)

    I think it's a great idea.

Plus, I like seeing the avatars I made for SevenSeek everywhere. :)

Doesnt look like DP forum around here anymore... I think the site looks like it belongs to sitesift....

I cant see giving up your avatar...

You see each avatar says something about the person....now most are just sitesift or 7search.. the individuality is gone that many strove for in the first place

Amazing, how so many, can be so easily led.....

nice idea IMHO. I would have to say it does make a thread look like someone is talking to theirself tho. I like the idea.

tbarr60 asked: "Did all of you sell your avatar for $20 per month?"

I hope they all signed for 3 months at least. 6 would be ideal to take over the forum. What? (6 months for sitesift to be in absolute charge of the forum and for every non-logo holder to naturally take over the reputation that the now sold out guys once called their own. Before they sold their identity for $20 bucks. How to spend this money? My tip: get the book "the 10 rules of branding" That's a cool investment - yes it will pay for itself in no time, and you will take your whole business to a completely new level)

...now let's talk about your house front guys...are you sure you don't need some extra gift spending money...yes exactly, for your cousin's kids, and their cousin's kids...no? By the way, what about your car, doesn't it look a bit plain? It does to me. No colors. here you go, put some yellow on it, and a splash of orange...hey and a little logo on all sides, good that I happen to carry some with me at all times...

I was wondering if I could get some of these many DP'ers to put one of those white letter URL's across the back window of there car for $20 per month. This offer would stand for people that actually drive where people seem them (not getting up from your PC at 1:00 am to run down to the store to get some chips and energy drink) and it would have to be a decent car.

Would any of you take that offer?

I I like the marketing idea plus his alexa went up because most of us the alexa toolbar.......but it looks weird with the site sift and sevenseek avatars...one of the things about forums is the cool and individual avatars..

You mean you want to do something like this?

Who pays to have the lettering made up?

Ohh and you want it on a car like this?

$20/month is too low for an ad in a car imo

But you already have an ad on the car - the little logo on the front and the
model name on the back :)

Right but I was thinking when I cut people off and give them the finger... they will see Tbarrs URL and write him and complain....

Just Kidding - I had to add a disclaimer as some here at DP, would use this against me, and probably will in the future
