Recently I have received a feedback from my visitor that when he was trying to access my blog he received Malware warning. He is using Business Avast antivirus. I am currently running my blog on blogger.com, so I do not have any files which might get infected. I am using ESET smart security and have never received any warning. Is there any way how to find out what is going on and how to fix this Avast issue? Thank you in advance.
Do you have advertisements on your blog? I am seeing a growing issue with malware being pushed through ads. You can also check through here: http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=www.domain.com Just put your domain in place. Avast is pretty good at spotting Malware on sites. I was using AVG and it routinely missed web-based exploits. Avast tends to catch them. For a good review site for AV software see: http://www.av-comparatives.org/
You have to be really careful with these oddball ad networks. I used to try them out but they trigger lots of AV's. Stick with large providers only.
sign up to google webmaster tools and you'll get a detailed analysis of your site. It will let you know if your site is sending out or hosting malware. It's what I did when my site was infected
Yes absolutely - google webmaster tools is just invaluable in these circumstances. It may be that there is a particular add that's causing the problem, but it might not be there all the time if the ads are rotating.
