On Friday (at 3am, harhar Google automated systems) I got a warning email from AdSense saying invalid click activity, autosurf detected blah blah blah. Now I get a significant amount of legitimate hits per day, so why would I need to pay for some low quality traffic and get banned from AS? Analytics wasn't showing anything so I put up an extreme tracker, and now I can see 3 sites (so far) sending me autosurf traffic; autosurf.cc autosurf.org 126hits.com (all very similar, probably the same) What should I do? I replied to Google's warning claiming innocence but I'm wondering if there's a good way to block those autosurf programs. I added this to my htaccess: RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} 126hits\.com [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} autosurf\.org [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} autosurf\.cc RewriteRule .* - [F] But I'm still noticing some traffic trickling through from those sites... Any thoughts?
Went to the autosurf site and signed up for a free account, eventually landed on my site and removed adsense from that page. Hopefully it stops... I can already see the lost revenue =/ Though its better than being outright banned I suppose.
Google responded (1 hour after my initial email, wtf?), they say they appreciate my initiative in blah blah and that my earnings may be adjusted if it continues, but it looks like I've evaded the possibility of a ban. Case closed
