Autoresponders: Server Side VS. 3rd Party?

    Hey guys,

Does anyone know if there is a big difference in deliverability rate between using server-side autoresponder software versus a 3rd party subscription-based site?

Right now I have my own dedicated server and am running Autoresponse Plus (server side) to send out my autoresponders and broadcast emails... But I've read that 3rd party mailers like getresponse, aweber etc. have a higher deliverability rate.

    Any thoughts on this?

(I'm talking strictly in terms of deliverability rate)

    Thanks,

    Sean

Yea I'm running ARP3 also on my VPS.

However fact is it's deliverability will never match ones like Aweber.

    And for one reason only:

They have WHITELISTED their IP's on major ISPs.

So if you were to do that, deliverability will be exactly like Awebers. Literally no difference.

I'm kinnda thinking of going to Aweber because they take care of the deliverability. But holding back because they don't even closely match ARP3 filtering and list management features.

A3P3 looks hard to install, from what i've read on the install notes, althoguh they do have the service of a pro coming to do it for you....
But i think ARP3 allows more flexibility in terms that you don't have to pay if your list grows in size and no recurring charges, other than that they seem to be the same...
I admit going to aweber to get started is much faster than a server sided autoresponder

Aweber and Getresponse are much better than server side email sending software. As astounding said, they have whitelisted their IPs.

Went thru all of this a few months back , having your own server based system does have merit but the worry of corrupting my own database of contacts from my own inexperience made me look at web based systems - the choice was either aweber or getresponse , I discounted the rest as the major email lists I am on use either AW or GR - I chose GR because it was one price regardless of my list size so my monthly budget was fixed! :)
