Are there any national statistics that show the conversion rate of a dealer website in regards to forms being filled out and submitted? Dan
I don't know, but I would imagine that it would be the same as any other form for any other product. Wouldn't you think? It can be too far off, anyway. Just find what the overall conversion rate is for such a form. No? Yes? But since most of that site's visitors won't fill out a form, the same with squeeze pages, why do it in the hope of selling something? I don't know, maybve you are sending out the forms, like mass e-mail?
Actually, I can imagine conversion rates for car sales being much lower than other things. It's an expensive long-term purchase that isn't usually an impulse buy. Think about how many nick-nacks you "accidentally" purchased, then compare that to your accidental car purchases. Yeah. Plus I think more car purchases start out as a fantasy to most. They all want the Ferrari and it may not be until they actually look at the payments that they come down a few notches. So you might get a lot of "tell me more" requests from people who could never afford it to begin with. This mindset is especially true online where they're anonymous and don't have to answer to wasting someone elses time. In other words they're less likely to walk into your dealership and waste 30min asking about a car they can't afford (although I'm sure it happens).
