I have 1000s of files that I need to be RARed in a specific manner. Can anyone help me with this, please? Here is what i need to get done.... 1) I have about a 1000 rar files in a folder. I need one specific file to be added into each archive. 2) I have around 100 folders with some files in each folder. I need all the files in each folder to be archived into one seperate rar file which means finally each folder should have one rar file in it containing the files that were there in that folder. I hope I have made myself clear. Can anyone help me with this? I checked around and found out about command line tools but looks like I'm too dumb to understand that stuff! So help please! And better still if anyone knows of a small app that can perform these functions, that would be great!! Thanks guys!
well its been in the last millenium that i was a windows-user. im only on linux anymore, and i have not one windows-pc to grab, so i could not try my codes. but these should lead you in the right direction. you may have to correct "rar" with full path to the commandline rar.exe. try them and search on google for "batch rename" and use the stuff you find as base. all around mine should work like this, maybe its a little wrong, but you get the idea... for %%J in (*.rar) do rar a %%J.rar File-To-Add.nfo for %%J in (*) do rar a %%J.rar %%J
