    Hi,

I'm looking for ideas on what to develop with regards running scheduled queries on our database.

    1) Customers haven't logged on for while.
    2) Custoemrs haven't ordered for a while.
    3) What did they order previously so what might they be interested in?

In essence customer metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) by extracting data and creating different views of it. You can be smarter than just sending offer emails, you can tailor it to an individual customers' buying history.

Any good websites\documents on this subject or anyone got any advice. :)

    Thanks :)

    Hi ,

are you looking for the actual query or for the kinds of triggers you should be looking out for?

Maybe if there was a pattern of purchasing by a customer , then a halt. Im sure you could have a query dividing the # of purchases over time and if the kpi was low , then send them mails with discounts on similar..

Or If you could have a kpi that measured their login times versus the last time they purchase and if they have maybe 5 logins with no purchases then indecisiveness could have set in , so offer a discount on products viewed?

Sorry Im ranting really and not an expert.. not sure of any sites out there , hopefully more Gurus here can assist!

    Good luck!

    Hi,

No just the triggers. I can build the queries from that...

Yes that is exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for! Any one else got ideas like the above?

One concern is what if a user thinks if I don't order from them after X weeks they are going to give me a discount... Am I being paranoid or can anyone think of ways of protecting ourselves from abuse as well! :)

    THanks

Do you have a points system? Offer them double points say on the product rather than a discount?

Or instead of offering a discount after the x weeks , email them a customer product review that you may already have on the site....?

I can see your point about protecting from abuse.... Hmmmmmm
