Automating adwords experiences?

    Hi,

I have approx 500 products I want to add. I am going to use the adwords editor and create a adgroup for each. All the products are stored in a db so I easily created these by a bulk import.

Now I want to create the advert and keywords dynamically. I have some questions:

    1) Do you think dynamically generated ads work? If so any examples of how it should look. For example if I'm selling widgets?

    Buy Red Widget
    We sell red widgets!
    Lowest Price in the UK!
    www.widgets.com/red-widget

    ^^^ does this look OK?

    2) Any tips for best practises on dynamically generating kw's? Do you set a CPC for each kw or per adgroup?

Any other examples would be great!

    Thanks

To be honest, 500 is not really that much. If I were you, I would take a few hours out of my day and do the grunt work. Manually create ads for each of your products. You will appreciate it in the long run.

Doing 500 products by hand may take well over a few hours, but thats the rigth thinking.

You can first create it automatically and later replace them as you move on with the campaign to better target the ad for each product.

Exactly. The same ad may not work for all products and you need to test religiously to see what works.

I have worked with companies with literally hundreds of thousands of keywords and ads and their bottom line increased significantly after taking the time to customize each ad.

Start as you mean to go on. I know it can be tempting to just jump in head first, but a little extra time to think can make all the difference.

Personally, I'd set the campaign live with a generated advert, and then 'upgrade' your adverts, starting with the ones that have got the most traffic.

That said, the advert you've written is a bit bland...

And you'll need to be able to prove that you're the cheapest in the UK...

I agree personalised adverts would be ideal, but wow I don't have 1/2 day spare to do such tasks! :) Does anyone know of any one who offer this service..?

Custard: What would you suggest is a "better" advert text?

    Thanks
