On my blog and forum I often get comments posted that have blantently been posted by a robot. Has anyone ever actually reaped any reward from this activity?

xrumer, yeah that was good for a time.. but at one for all, this kind of Link Building is a Waste of time as long as most now use Captcha.

Automated software is blog commenting and in forum posting? Never tried it. But I tried automated article submission and depends on the software you're going to use. But then, manual submission is the best.

Yea, if you care about your site, don't mess around with bots. I have yet to meet someone using bots but I'm sure they have had a few sites banned by google.

I dont think G loves such kind of stuff. There are no ways that you will get much help from them. And still many bloggers and directory owners have stopped entertaining automated software. So better try doing them manually.

Using automated backlink method is a no-no for anyone serious about building a reputable business; and want to see their site on any SERP. These however, are some of the practices of unprofessional and amateur people out there.

My recommendation would be to hire a reputable and trusted agency to handle your link campaign rather that handing it to just about anyone who promises to get you listed in all the directories on the web.

Automatic methods will be used by spammers who are looking for instant results for shorter time. Since their sites stays for shorter period they dont want to get genuine backlinks.
