Automatic email based on results of database query

I am looking for some sort of script that can send an email automatically by querying a database and returning the email addresses of someone who had an appointment 48 hours previous.

Is there anything available that would be able to do this or could anyone recommend or advise on how to do this?

In what language do you need this script? PHP? ASP? VBscript?

I have similar scripts but I need to know exactly what you're looking for.

 

I would need the script in php if possible.
