Automatic blog Wordpress plugin

    Hey all,

I'm currently writing a plugin for WordPress that automatically post content from several sources.

At this point the plugin can be either setup to post automatically (with a cron job setup) or with a single click inside the WordPress admin. My main goal is for this to be very simple to install and to use, and it must be reliable.

It gets content from Yahoo! Answers (from a list of keywords) and from a list of RSS feeds.

Content from Yahoo! Answers includes the question itself and all the answers. The answers are posted as comments to the post.

    Options include:
    - you can choose the number of posts for each source of content
    - clean up titles and content (to avoid ALL CAPS posts, etc...)

What I'm planning to add is:
    - other sources of content (articles databases, forums, other "answers" sites)
    - add a picture to each post (maybe from Flickr)
    - use random dates for posts and comments (from a specified range)
    - transform all links to no-follow links

What else do you think it should do? What other options would you like to see? The thing is I'm planning to offer this plugin for sale when it is done, but I will give it away for FREE to anyone that gives me good ideas and suggestions here!

What other websites should it scrape content from?
What websites should it takes pictures from?
What other options and settings would you like to have?

    Any input is very appreciated!

Hard to answer this since I don't believe in autoposting, or scraping content from other sources. Also taking pictures from sources that you don't have permission to use is also frowned upon, and most times just plain copyright infringement.

I don't understand the purpose of the plug in, there are already scraping type plug ins, and...merely taking content from other sites serves no purpose since it is duplicate, and infringement.

This seems to be an idea that is 2-5 years too late.

Flickr has different kind of licenses for pictures. A lot are licensed as common creatives or almost copyright-free (no need to credit the author).

Also, many RSS feeds only include an excerpt of the article, with a link back to the blog for the full article.

It's up to the user to choose these feeds.

Also, I respect your opinion on the subject, but I disagree with you. I've been using a similar plugin in the past (which I've not been completely happy with, hence me coding my own plugin) and it has been working for me. The questions on Yahoo! Answers are questions that a lot of people are asking themselves. If you take a particular keyphrase pertaining to a certain niche, you will get all kind of questions, formulated differently for that niche. Post each of these on your blog as individual post and you have a lot of the job done as far as SEO is concerned. It will bring targeted traffic to your blog. This is step 1.

Step 2 is converting that traffic, that's a whole different topic ;)

Wow automation? Lets see, here goes nothing.
    1. Get picture from flickr, or photobucket, (for related niche) but we still have a choice, whether we choose to upload that picture or not? (can grab by it's name, such as "Need for speed.jpg, or britney spears.gif"
    2. Get Blog, with related niche n topic. (yahoo answer?) But we still have a choice, whether we choose to upload that topic or not? and can be edited.
Also get detected "have been used keyword", N every topic of "answer", that this software get, it will be manageable, in different folder based on the FAQ title. (Folder that have special keyword that we make it before)
    3. Dates, and time for the blog manageable.
    4. Delete hyperlink.
All 4 that U mention earlier.
    5. It has search engine, that can generate top 20 related keyword? just like in google keyword. So it can calculate best keyword generated from Yahoo answer title. (is it SEO?)
    6. Or if U want to auto generate FAQ? every question that submit from Ur Website, will be pooled in your engine (software), and already have some answer related. Before U choose to upload the answer to your website.
    7. Maybe it will be more efficient if it can generated by paragraph?

I hope this will do? N don't forget me, if Ur Engine is ready hehehe.

Blogspot and feedburner are just standard RSS feed, this is already taken care of. As for fully automatic posting, that too is done already, as I've explained above.

    1. Thanks, I didn't know Photobucket had an API.
    2. Your wordpress blog remains a wordpress blog, you can still post, edit, delete any post made on the blog. Also, before posting a new post, the plugin checks if it has not already been posted before to avoid double-posting.
    3. See above.
    4. That could be an option: either remove any link, make them no-follow, or leave them as-is.
    5. That is also an idea. Thanks.
6&7. Not sure I understand what you mean.

You made some good suggestions, I'll keep you in mind when it is ready!

I know there are other plugin out there but that doesn't mean I can make another one ;) The reason I even started building mine is because I wasn't satisfied with what I had tried and I didn't want to go out and buy every plugin that exists to, maybe, find one that is good ... plus I can always sell my own plugin when I'm done :D

For 6 n 7, what I mean is that U can get a good article, not just by related keyword, also by related paragraph. For example. If U search for article for "PC Games - Need for Speed 4", the engine not just looking by ("Games"-"PC"-"need")/keyword, but only by "PC Games - Need for Speed 4" with exact word. (Have an option, search by keyword or by main title or I may say it as paragraph). When U make automation, U would like Ur Blog to automate, with the right article to fill in. N save a lot of time, when U want to sorted manually the right article for Ur Blog.

I think the search engines prefer the original content more. And it is not quite adversely for us to make posts automatically. You may read those content and make some modification such as adding some ideas or reviews of your own. It is not worthwhile in my eyes.:)

I'm planning on selling the plugin when it is complete. I'm thinking about different packages:

    1. Autoblog Network package: Bloggomatic, an automatic social bookmarking plugin, a few ad-ready templates, and an ebook on how to set everything up and start making money.

    2. Link Farm package: Bloggomatic, a PHP script to link all blogs together, a few basic blog templates, and an ebook on how to setup a link farm and how to get the most out of it.

    3. SEO package: Bloggomatic, a PHP script to link all blogs together, a special template I designed, and an ebook explaining a new method I developped ;)

What would you guys be most interested in?
