Automatic blog commenting

I was curious to know if automatic blog commenting software is frowned upon by the search engines? I have seen some of these services being offered on the net, but if the same content (in this case comments) are being distributed throughout the net, that can't be a good thing can it?

I would love to hear feedback on this.

I don't rely on any software tools for automatic blog comment or forum posting. I do suggest you don't use any software tools for automatic blog comment or forum posting.

Apparently that is one of the things Google is focusing on when deciding on ranking this year so if you are going to autoblog it is better to rewrite or spin the content.

Dont use blog commenting softwares and I would refrain from posting too many blog comments manually. You will see ur sites penalized(penalized is different from sandboxed meaning if a site is penalized it will lose ranking 20-50 spots)

there is software for all kinds of stuff. I just got something that can do blog comments but I didn't buy it for that reason. A lot of them have other functions that can sometimes be useful. pretty much anything that is automated is blackhat in someway. I have used profile links and got good results.

I wouldn't recommend any form of automatic blog commenting. As a blog owner myself I delete any comments that look automated or are spammy in some way. The best way to get traffic and links from other people's blogs is to be yourself and add something worthwhile to the conversation.

Well what you do is use the scrapper function from the software, get high PR related page which dont have hundreds of spammy outbound links, then comment manually. Your comment will always stick

I hate stupid idiots sending out automatic comments that has no relation to my blogs content what so ever.
About 2/3 of the comments my site recieves are pure spam and they go directly to the spam folder since I'm using akismet...
It's just stupid. Would you want spam on your site, if no then don't order services like that.

I think honesty is important online, no one would like automatic comment from software on their blogs.
