Automated websites okay with Google?

I want to have some automated incomes from Google Adsense. If I create a fully automated website for this, that automatically pulls content from various sources, would this be considered as "duplicate content" and be penalized by Google? But I see many websites that have most of their content as feeds, and that same content is usually available on other sites too, and they have Adsense on their sites as well, so how do they go about it? I mean, what is the correct way to go about making an automated website with Adsense on it, so that we don't get penalized by Google?

yes, in other words, we should give distinct value added to the automated blogs, so google wont see it as a junk/gibberish/no-value blog.

value that makes your site is useful for visitor, value that makes your site is different (better) from other site you copied.
