I'm looking for an automatic web translation service like World Lingo, Google Translate or Altavista BabelFish Translate.

Do you know any without the annoying big banner at the top?

    Thanks!

Google Translate doesn't have a big banner at the top and, in my opinion, is probably the best automated translation you'll get. I also found a list of services on the internet: http ://www.humanitas-international.org/newstran/more-translators.htm

Search in the freebies forum, there is a free automated translation script that makes this job nicely.

Yep, the microsoft one is good, but the http://www.masterwebsoftware.com/translation-script/index.php script is for use by webmasters. You install two files on your site, and then some code on the web pages that you want translated, and visitors simply click a flag to see the page in their language.

Plus, these translated pages are cached by the search engines so increase your footprint on the search engines.

    Best,

    Hi Gzervali,

    Sure thing.

There are two sides to using a translation script.

    1. You can sell to non English speaking peoples and increase your market. Most translation scripts offer you the option to choose which countries you want to target. Also remember, even in the US, there are people who's first language isn't American.

    2. A few translation script are cache-able. That means the translated pages are indexed by the search engines. So whereas you have say 8 pages on your site - by offering your site in say 8 more languages, you now have 64 pages. As your site's footprint has increased, so to a certain extent has your "authority". It's not alays like that, but in my experience I have found that my rankings on searh engine results has gone up.

    Trust this helps,
