Only would be helpful if you are trying to scam someone. IE: inflating your traffic numbers prior to a website sale. That being said, it's not even worth it then, since no one in the IM community would take you seriously after that.
I personally really dont believe in automated traffic. I think it just kinda destroys the point of working hard and receiving real traffic.

you must be aware of automated traffic coz they can give you lots of popups. and you may receive traffic from unwanted sites.. and google dont like popups
