Automated ads, are they evil?

Ok, firstly I acknowledge this is a ad network.

However, I thought this article might partially apply to parts of the co-op and possibly what some people are using it for, therefore I figured it might be interesting.

    Summary:

    Here's the article:

    http://www.textlinkbrokers.com/blogs/comments/339_0_1_0_C/

    Why?

    Because:

    [..]

Obviously the co-op has a "footprint" which is the stats counter.

I thought this might interest those who are using the co-op for seo, it's a interesting debate.

Personally it doesn't bother me, but whichever side of the fence you're on it's a good article. Long live the co-op.

This is what she said in that article:

This unfortunately is "true" but NOT TRUE - she hasn't thought through or experienced the reality.

Jagger the Shagger stuffed me on two sites completely - where are they now?

    Higher than ever

    What did I do

Some small alterations based on "what is around the keywords is that what matters" as said by Cutts in July 2005

How long did it take .. ahhh :D

Interesting Foxy, I lost two in Jagger the shagger (I like that ; ) also.

I haven't touched either of them.

1 is back to better than its former glory, 1 is not.

    Go figure...

In fact other sites that were affected have also come back ... differently with different KWs ... but I do know now how to tackle the subtle alterations.

One of the above sites I struggled for years to get above 5.....went to 700+...now 3 and if I altered it more it probably would go higher...except I don't think I want to do that ...yet :D

Nice to hear of your two sites ... I will say once more for those others out there...It is what is around the KWs that is what is important... and I don't just mean on page...look around you !!!!!!

    I hadn't no....

I'm not advocating the co-op, I'm also not being derogatory towards it.

Don't blame the messenger :) - I use the co-op. I just thought it was a interesting point for those who do use the co-op for links not ads.

    Cryptic advice?!

    Yeah...very

I couldn't understand why one site which was blatantly "using" the kw phrase for a site to attract advertising on it did not get hit!

So I went and had a good objective view on it.

Remember that images were NOT good ...rubbish

Remember that OBLs were NOT good ... rubbish [I've known that for a long time now]

And...all the other sites that had been, before Jagger the Shagger, around me were similar......s..t!

And...all the other sites that were now [at 700+] around me were similar...s..t again!!

And...[this is controversial] this was the second time my commercial site had got hit just as it came into a peak time....

    :D
