I am not talking about me havign autoblogs, but other people using my feed to power their own blogs.

What they do is post the first few paragraphs on their blog and then link to my blog in the bottom. Mostly nofollow.

What could the effect be of this?

    Good or bad?

This could be good for you provided you both have solid content. The last thing you want is spam comments or to be linked with say a porn blog (unless of course you're in the adult industry).

Pretty similar to the above - I have had limited success with them, well they have never hurt my sites :)

You might get some traffic from their blogs, even if links are nofollow, crawl bots still follow them but just don't count for PageRank, that's the only difference...they won't do any harm for you, unless hey gain more backlinks then they can outrank your blog with your original content...but I don't think that happens...google won't allow it :) So unless you don;t like your content being posted elsewhere without yr permission, I wouldn't mind.

    Bad:
    - You do the best you can
    - They do nothing but still get your content

    Good:
    - If they provide your link, it's a good :)

People do this all the time. Get used to it. Others feed can be powering your blog and yours can be powering theirs. At least they leave a link back and not claim it as theirs.

    Hi,

I find that when you look into this happening, the 'skimmers' tend to offer duplicate content which over a period of time would cost you places within the SERPS
