I Like my article to stay on the home page and the content pulled to go in the categories.

Yep, there are plugins to do this but since wordpress 2.7 or 2.8 (I'm not sure) came out they've added this feature!

Yes, just make it a static homepage. Go to Settings/Reading

You'll have to create the page first before you can select it as your homepage.

And create the catergories either before or during posting. And selecting the the correct catergory when making the post, or if it's already been posted you can edit the post.

Sticky posts are the way to go. Just a side note: You need to check whether the WP theme you're using supports it, or it won't work. Most themes developed for WP 2.7 should already have that included.

I am having problem with the WP built-in sticky. I use WP-sticky plugin, this is great.

Doesn't that plugin do exactly what is already built into the core of Wordpress?
