You're apparently the one with the problem, and are incapable of out ranking an autoblog. There is no 'rules', this is the internet and you cannot do anything about others reusing your content. It is not 'stealing' as 'wrong' or 'right' as it may be. They do not out rank the original blogs! Correct, they do target long tail keywords. Correct they do have 100s or 1000s of pages. Also correct is that Google takes into account a blog accumulating 100s or 1000s of posts in a short time span and will punish them. You guys simply do not give enough credit to the search engines and their capabilities to detect duplicate content and rank the websites accordingly. The quality and sources of traffic are also taken into account in the rankings, and thus the more genuine blog will rank higher every time. If one's unique content is being out-ranked by an auto blog you are simply doing something wrong on your end, and are blaming your failure on others. Stealing your customers? Auto blogs are generally just article collections packed full of ads. Perhaps stealing some visitors would be a better way to put this.
I hate autoblog, I'll report google immediately whenever, wherever I see it. This make internet whiter.
Ya, and I don't see how autobloggers can last on the web, they won't. @brandon93 I don't work in the SEO niche, so autobloggers aren't crap to me, so what are you talking about?
thanks for sharing your "autoblog" I've actually been searching for a place to find the latest wordpress security issues. And regarding the current topic, not sure if someone mentioned this, but Tumblr, which is one of the fastest growing communities online, rely and heavily promote "reblogging" and offers features for autoblogging. It's all about what your intentions are with the content and if you're following fair use practices. I'm not going to spend my time looking for and reporting autoblogs, as for every one I report a thousand will popup. Just let it die off.
I don't really mind autobloggers when they take my RSS feed, coz when the user clicks [Read More...] it goes back to my website, so its giving us traffic and advertising for us. I don't really see an issue.
it helps limiting your rss feed down to just the excerpt. that way even if people do syndicate full posts they will only get the excerpt and will hopefully be forced to include the read more link, which is great for us.
I, for one, cannot wait for all of these Auto-Blogs to be removed. They add nothing but copied crap to the internet, and honestly, take up valuable internet space and domains. Good to see Google finally start cracking down on them, however I think Google should've done this years ago.
I think google is against autoblog because autoblog are stealing content from different websites. google just accepts unique contents.
When i am new to IM, i use to like autoblogging, as it helps newbies to startup their initial blog content. But after sometime, i personally removed the software and do it manually. The main reason is autoblogging bring in a lot of "noise", the content sometime are irrelevant and unacceptable. I can hardly relate my thinking with it. Therefore i remove it and add in my own content to show what my personnality is. Everybody is unique. So be yourself.
