I am trying to setup a autoblog using the wp-o-matic wordpress plugin. I setup everything correctly and I enter the blogs feed url. But when it goes to fetch the posts it only fetches a small part of them. Then it will have a [...] at the end but I am not able to click on it to view the rest of the post. How can I have it fetch the entire post?
A lot of people only post abbreviated/partial rss feeds, for exactly this reason. If you want wp-o-matic to pull in full posts, you have to feed it FULL rss feeds.
Is there a way to make any rss feed full? Or how do I find full ones? It seems like most are abbreviated.
You need to find them. And becareful with WPOMATIC as it is not upgraded for the latest version of WP.
Most are excerpts for the exact reason you are asking this question. Most bloggers that go through the time and effort to post good original content on their blogs don't want their hard work stolen. I don't even like the lazy @#&_ard's to use my excerpts on these spam blogs and do all I can to get them to stop. If you want free full articles try an article directory site.
first logint to any ftp client, put create cache folder into wp-o-matic folder.use RSS link withot & ;remove it from Link.and it will wok properly....
There are rewrite tools that can save you from copyright issues. Use Yahoo Pipes to create full RSS feeds.
Yahoo Pipes or other RSS fetchers with some regex and search/replace magic could help you get full feeds when the site offers only excerpts. But beware, this is probably a cause for copyright trouble. Stick to excerpts IMO. I use it successfully at one of my sites and it still works despite it not being updated, I'm running it on a 2.8.1 site with no problems. So far the only actual problem I see is duplicate posts, once in a while the plugin will post duplicate entries for the same post and I'm not sure why it does it... I wonder if its repeated legitimately because I might have the feed twice in the campaigns or if its some other issue.
