Nope, sorry, but Matt. Do you think people are going to be interested in "old news" - if your serious about earning an income from a blog, then your content has to be unique, otherwise people won't link to it. On one blog, I have 16,000 links with 90% of them being through one-way links.
I do think that some users will be interested in recent blog posts about a certain topic all in one place, and it may give them an extra reason to bookmark a site. I am just planning on adding these auto-blogs as extra features of some of my existing sites.
I remember someone posting some PHP code which would allow you to add an RSS feed within a blog page. So you could create a news page, and the content would be from another blog you own or like. I think it was yfs1 who posted it so have a try searching for it on the forum.
Thanks OIOplus, that's the price I wanted It looks like it posts every post from a certain blog though, not just posts containing certain keywords. Is that correct?
I've used FeedWordPress and RSStoBlog. Neither of them did much, the new version of R2B is a pita to use and poorly coded. Gotta be careful with it, I used it to bring a dual xeon 2.8 with 2G in it to it's knees. This was probably a good tool when it was new, back when you could build a gazillion blogger blogs in minutes and actually have them last longer than 24 hours. As far as scrapers go it does a reasonably good job of crafting together a post, but as noted, it's all old news and not really of any substance. Mine would take about 2 weeks to get going, they'd go gangbusters for a week maybe two then the pingers would figure it out and either block them or the engines would delist them. Now, if you want it to add your own content to, stuff you create yourself like articles and such and just want it to auto post on a schedule for you that might be a little different. I might start using it for that instead, the automated junker blog is nothing more than an automted headache if you ask me. There's probably better tool sout there though to managed scheduled posts anyway. Probably a WP plugin for that that also initiates the ping.
Yes, limiting the feeds in the way you describe doesn't seem to have been touched on in the WP plugins. I'm also looking at this plugin for pulling in feeds (sci-fi story feeds in my case) and trying to filter the posts that get pulled in. I'll post here if i make any progress, but time is limited for me.
