    No. This is not a feed importer script. This script receives articles from articlemarketer to our wordpress database. You can check with my sites that I already posted here.

    If you go through articlemarketer signup pages ( http://www.articlemarketer.com/posted.php ) you can see there is a form needed for receiving articles from them. This script does the job for that. ArticleMarketer sents the article using post method, this script put that articles in appropriate fields of our wordpress database.

    I am using this script on my newly created 8 article directories. I am also planning to launch more sites with this script. A amazing product that I never seen before!!!

    I think I became a good fan and supporter of Auto Submit Article Script.....

    Last week I submitted 8 of my sites and got approved within 5-6 hours and started receiving articles. 1 site got approved within 30 minutes.

    After submitting the site, check their distribution list after half an hour for your site. If your site is in their distro list ( www.articlemarketer.com/distrolist.php ) then you can make sure you are going to receive articles.

    Can anyone shed a little light on the schedule ping optimizer install. I think it's going to be a crucial piece with the frequency of posts that will be coming and I'm a little confused in the last couple steps with the cron job part. It says:

    At "Post Schedule Ping Optimizer" option page you'll see cron
    job code which you should add in your cron job.

    Add that code in your cron job and set it to run every hour.

    I see the line of code but where do I put it? Is there a file that came with the WP download that I alter or do I have to do it via the Control Panel with my host? I've pasted it there and set it to run every hour but it errors out.

    Any ideas?

    I am not using Ping Optimizer. You can install a sitemap for the site. A best one can be found here: http://www.arnebrachhold.de/redir/sitemap-home/

    After installing this sitemap, go to wordpress admin panel, Options tab, then the Writing section, scroll down to bottom. You can see update services section there. Put the below list in it and click update options. After installing the xml sitemap, you have to generate the sitemap manually. I think if you play with the settings, you can make it automatic. When sitemap updates, this will ping all sites that listed in the list. I am not a wordpress expert, so I cant say more.

    Put this in the Update Services box;

    I wasn't so much looking for the different sites to ping to as much as how to adjust the timing of the pings. With Article Marketer hypothetically doing a continuous dump of "posts", and a subsequent ping sent out with each post, the frequency could very easily be perceived as spammy by the recipients of the ping. A new ping every 6 minutes every hour of every day...hmmmm-you're accounts closed. Setting an hourly, every 2 hour...etc. ping would be a little better received I would think.

    You must have a cron job in your web hosting control panel. I just downloaded the plugin and installed it on 1 site, then gone through crontab, then put the code into it and set the time to 6 hours. Till now no problems showed...

    When try to set a cron job, the error says;
    /bin/sh: /usr/bin/wget: Permission denied

    I think there is some permission problem. The host is not allow some commands. I am now trying curl instead of wget.

    I hate to say misery loves company but at least I know I'm not alone.

    That's the exact same error that I was talking about in my post that I get. Are you on Host Gator by chance?

    I'm going to log a ticket and see if anyone there can offer up a work-around.

    Well...from the Host Gator chat support...

    email on it's way

    As I understand it, you only need the cron job if you intend to make posts with future dates -

    "For making future ping for future post you must put this code in your cron job:"

    This is a secondary feature of the plug-in. WP (apparently) sends out the pings when you make a post, even if you've set the date some time in the future. The plug-in fixes this, but needs the cron job.

    My understanding is that WP pings with every new post. Using the ASA script that would be some serious pinging, look spammy and run the risk at getting your account closed at the sites you're pinging to.

    I think the intention of this plug in is to let you override the "ping with every post" default and give you the flexibility to set your own ping timing i.e. hourly, every other hour, daily...etc.

    BTW, once I got the response from Host Gator that they enabled wget on my account, everything seems to be working fine.

    I haven't gotten my script yet...but this sounds like the same problem I encountered when setting up a cron job for smartrss. I should have a good cron command for you once I see the script and what php file to run.
