Auto-submission softwares

I have recently learnt SEO in depth and am now ready to promote my site.
For various types of submissions I have found a auto, semi-auto software.
I had a few pointers to discuss regarding submission on which I want more information.

    1. Are these submission softwares perfectly safe way to submit ?
I have read that earlier some softwares couldn't get your link submitted 'cos the relevant site could recognize it and considered it a spam.
But what they essentially are doing is just auto-filling and submitting unless captcha involved so where is the spam question ? Also if its fully auto where you dont have to individually submit each I have seen that their site list have a similar layout making them functionable. Still is there a problem with fully or semi-auto.

    2. A social bookmark auto-submit software had proxy options. It stated purpose was so that the links appear natural. But none of the softwares in other categories had a proxy option eg article submission. Is submitting with different IP's relevant to social bookmarks and not Press release, article etc.

    3. Also some have multiple title option, can a same title scenario be caught by Search engines.

    4. How many links max should be submitted in one go. The software can blast 100's of sites in one go, but I read that google can catch it and consider it unnatural ?

    5. Also how many submits of each category should I make to get a very good rank for the targetted kwywords.

Automated submission tools are crap. These softwares are often used for link spamming. I wouldn't recommend the use of such tools. Manual submission is still the best way of building links.

I don't really thrust auto submission software it better to do it manually than using a software, you are not sure if you successfully submitted your site.

But can anybody explain me technically as to why it is spam. I am considering the semi-auto ones, where they auto-fill(like roboform) and you do the submit.

Also had anyone had a postive experience with them since they do sell for 150$ odd(one time invest types) so companies promoting them do consider all the spam quotient and odd, may be the free downloads one not workable.

    Also the other ques.
How many links to be submitted of each type 100,200,500 or more.

Additionaly I have read sometimes single submit on high PR like stumbeupon gets thousands of visitors and all this PR0 and low PR are just to show google the backlinks.

So can we split high PR manual low PR auto. any other workarounds. ?
Actually I am currently a 1 man army and I get consignments to do SEO I am thinking to find a way out to save time and money(to hire).

Keep in mind that if you try to submit to much content to the social bookmarking sites they will blacklist your URL and won't be able to use them in the future. Try to submit your best and most related content only. Building very fast low quality backlinks (social bookmarking sites, forums, directories, etc.) is generally not a good idea. In my opinion satellite sites that provide related, in-content backlinks will give you better results.

I too know that, nothing new about it.
Think of it even manual submission is in effect spam you are just fooling google.
Similarly can be done by some s/w.

    -----

One more thing I wanted to know some consider repeated submissions from one IP as a sure way to get under google's bad books. Some s/w even have proxy list for submission, so even in manual do you people take care of it and how .
