I am thinking I need an auto post plugin for wordpress. I know this is available, but not sure how difficult it is to set up. My questions are- 1. Do you need to set up a cron job to work it? 2. Any sort of database work that needs done? 3. How long does it take to install? Any feedback would be great!
What exactly do you mean by an autopost? Does it allow you to make up a bunch of posts and then have them published at certain times?

So you are basically trying to create a free link directory?? I am not sure I fully understand what your goal is.
Doesnt Wordpress allow you to set a post to go live at a certain date (or is this not what you're asking?)
it does... you can save the post as published while specifying a future date, To setup autoblogs and an entire tutorial check this out
umm. when u are about to publish, do not publish immediately and edit and u can actually assign which time u want to post it, it's very simple as that, and then, your post will be updated accordingly as you assign. just POST new, and check on the left if you are using 2.7.xxxx wordpress. hope that helps
All depend on what kinds of plugin you use, the following answers are using the free wp-o-matic as an exmple: 1. you do need to set up a cron job. 2. I don't see any settings for database. 3. just like a normal plugin installation. As for other paid plugins, such as the one in my signature, then it would be another story. PM me if you'd like to know more.
You can do Autposting by making a draft on wordpress and then setting the Publishing Date as to when you want the post to be published. It will automatically post on that Date. And Btw this feature is available from WP 2.7 and later
I think he was referring to a plugin that posts RSS or feed content automatically into WordPress. Try http://www.sitemile.com/p/auto-post-plugin
Check out blogsense, it might be up your ally, but its not a plugin so the learning curve will be slightly higher http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1446200 with a script like blogsense you will end up having to set a cron job, but a cron job is not that difficult, and most hosting providers give good documentation on how to do it.
