The ads system requires this privilege in paypal. It seems like this privilege allows Digital Point to monitor any transactions occurring on the Paypal account even ones not realted to Digital Point. Is this correct ? Would that mean then that a dedicated Paypal account is a better choice to use with Digital Ads instead of one used for other transactions ? Authorize and capture your PayPal transactions. This permission enables Digital Point Solutions to take the following actions on your behalf: Authorize PayPal transactions on your behalf Capture previously authorized transactions Extend the authorizations period for any PayPal transactions received by you Void PayPal transaction authorizations
Nope, it only allows us to capture previous transactions we set up for authorization since you need the original authorization code in order to capture (complete) transaction for you.
Is this a cryptic way of saying that Digital Point can see only and only its own transactions ? thanks for helping.
In theory, if we knew transaction IDs of your payment, we could a few details about it (dollar amount, who sent it, etc.)... but even if we were super malicious and somehow knew your transaction IDs, all we would be able to do with that transaction is see info about it... not like we could somehow magically transfer it to ourselves. Either way, if you are worried about us setting up payments going into your account, it's probably just best to not use the system so you don't have to worry about it.
