Hey There, How do you find authority websites? Is an authority website just a website with a PR greater than 5ish? So far, I have submitted my real estate website to realtor.com, realestate.com, lukebouman.com, business.com, and yahoo.com. Can anybody think of any other authority websites that I should look into? Thanks for any advice you can give me. Sincerely, Travis Walters
I think you should start here: http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/domain-authority After that, progress on to: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/whiteboard-friday-domain-authority-page-authority-metrics It will help you understand what authority is and how to identify it. Don't rely upon PR as an indicator of "authority". It's far from that really (an easy to manipulate number, can also be easily faked). It's not Google's exact definition, but SEOmoz's best guess at it and it's probably close.
just submitting to a few authority sites is not enough for a site's SEO campaign. its good to get your site listed there, but if you want your site to improve in SERP ranking, then you need to launch a well diversified link building campaign. aside from your on-page optimization, only an ongoing link building campaign can get your site ranked higher. before you put an SEO campaign together, pay attention to recent google panda update and penguin update which will give you some idea as to what to stay away from. you need an ethical 100% white hat link building campaign for long term result.
yes, it is important to promote NOT only your target keywords but some other. Because Penguin algo targets over seo-optimized websites
