Any Australians that know about Australian wines?

Do you know about Rothbury estate wines? Shiraz in particular?

Apparently you can't get it in the US anymore...what happened?

We still export a lot to European countries and to NZ.

Have they disappeared off your shelves? Export shortage? Quarantine?

There is a big shortage of wine here as the last years crop has been really bad with the drought. Some wine farmers have had to close up shop. I know the wine you are talking about and they are very scarese here in Brisbane too

The story is that it was a beautiful and inexpensive wine with a distinct plum flavour.

I started having problems finding it already 2 years ago or more, and recently I came across what I suppose were left overs, because apparently the rep said that it can't be ordered anymore.

What's funny is that you can still find cabernet wine, but not our fav, shiraz.

If anybody knows anything more, please let me know too! :)

Or, if Mr. Rothbury is a DP member, please speak up! :D

I used to serve Shiraz Black Swan, when I worked at Olive Garden Italian restaurant chain. You may still accasionaly find it at such places.

Yeah, and it's around the same price as the one I'm looking for, but to me, it isn't anything special.

    But thanks for the tip!

    Anybody else?

Where is this estate in Australia? I might go there, if I have to! ;)

    Cool!

Yes, Rothbury Estate Shiraz. Do you know if it's available in stores down under?

    Thanks!

    I found this page

The image is of merlot, but it's the shiraz wine that I can't find.

I used to pay a little more than that in Boston though...:(

Anybody lives nearby? Would you forward a complaint on my behalf in person?:D

Oops, Brennan just posted before me....
