Hi all I am new here and wanted to know if all i can expect is Australian adword ads to be displayed on my website. It has an australian domain .com.au, but I would also like ads from all over the world. Im not sure if I can add the url so I wont, but its in my profile. Thanks in advance.
Adsense will target the ads based on your content and on the location of the visitor (geo-targeting). Vistors from australia might see australian ads if they are relevant. Visitors from the USA will probably not see the australian ads. I just visited your site and got 3 international ads and 1 ad targeted at aussies (as I am from australia). You can use the Adsense preview tool to show the ads that would be displayed for a page or site on the interent. BTW you can't publish live links until you have 10 posts. Ross
Thankyou for your help, I downlaoded the preview tool and its works great. I have gone all the way through my site and yes, they are all good content ads, so i can complain. Plus considering the site has only been up less than a week in its present state, Im pretty happy with the results thus far. Were abouts in Australia are you riziko
He he. I had a laugh after I clicked on the menu and saw that there are only 2 pages on the site. The menu makes it look like a large site. I hope you can fill it out and have the pages to match your menu. I am in Sydney, where are you? Ross
Adelaide here. Theres heaps more than 2 pages on my site, but yes your right. All the menu links go to a contents page which is in reality a site map. I didnt want to complicate the site too much with all the links in the menu and as an optimisation tool it works quite well. Steve
Hi Steve, I'm in Adelaide too! (small world) I see 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 4 Australian ads when I look at your page. Even when I refresh a few times they don't really rotate much. Obviously not too many seo advertisers in Australia. Mark
Yes it is a small world. Who would have thought there would be at least 2 members of DP from adelaide. The site has I think around 70 odd pages with a few pages that need to be updated, but all in all they are quite accurate. However if any of you get a chance, please have a look at my other revamped website: http://www.articles.webseo.com.au I have a loyt of hope in thisone eventually becoming my main website. Any feedback will be appreciated.
Looks like a very well built site. Professional. Too many dotted lines though. Its VERY distracting. Cheers
Another Aussie here, from the Gold Coast...........When I look up holiday related sites all the adsense adds relate to holiday destinations on the Gold Coast......like I want to holiday here as well Actually going a step further Adwords is a real hassle for us, I had to get a proxy IP address to see where my adds were placed in regards to those looking at them from overseas, I found they are usually not placed in the position where Adwords say they are .
g'day Steve, a detail I noticed when I visited your seo site....hyperlinks jump! eeewwww yuk..a visual no no for moi...maybe you can fix that as I don't think I'm alone in this view. Might put off the odd potential customer. good luck
Hi Webseo, I've actually post a link from my blog that shows your what your adsense ad looks like from different geo locations. Hope that helps you! GoodLuck!
