I'm currently looking for a new Australian based WHM reseller host (with servers located in AU). Any Australians here have any suggestions?
MDwebhosting have servers located in Australia but there prices are outrageous. Can I ask why the servers need to be located in Australia? (BTW I live in Melbourne too) .
I need to host some domestic tourism sites, and most of the current traffic is from Googles "pages from Australia" search. I'm currently paying AU $480 per year for a 35 domain cpanel WHM account - the price is ok, but the quality is ordinary.
I would suggest that you try moving one of your sites to a US based server and monitor it for a few months. If you domain name is a .au one then you should not see any difference to the S/E traffic You could be saving a heap of money if you moved to a US based server for your sites.
I have several .com.au sites hosted in the states. Never had a drama. One that I noticed anyway. Had an email from these guys recently. http://www.enetica.com.au/ Or you could go dedicated. http://www.ozservers.com.au/ But as stated, I host in the states.
I have used http://www.bulletproof.net.au/ in the past and they were absolutely top class, including load balancing etc... Highly recommended. Cheers
Dotable.com now have servers based in Australia. Brilliant hosts, from my experience best of the Australian hosts, and possible best hosts in the world! You can read reviews from long term customers on their website.
Prices here are a joke, just like Telsta (thats another story...) even bulletproof ask a bit much for an unmanaged dedicated...$250+ per month. Unless your entire site is going to be aussie only i dont really see any point hosting here.
I work in the telco industry in Australia and used to work for Telstra - stay away from them. I have my sites hosted on Web City http://www.webcity.com.au/ I find them good to deal with - BTW I don't work for them.
