    Hi,

The DHL man just delivered my cheque and there was a note from Google suggesting that I sign up for EFT - so I just checked my account and that option is available now!

Great News... No more waiting at home for my monthly payment!

    cheers

I think it should be all Aussies, check your account details, once there was only standard cheque/secure check - mine now has add a bank account.

Yeah mine has the EFT option as well now, but I looked in their "Learn More" section and Australia still isn't listed as a country they EFT to.

They might not have updated that yet, the bank account section asked for BSB - Account # which I think is unique to Aussies - We will know for sure if I get the test deposit in a few days I suppose.

I just submitted my details and am now waiting for the small deposit also. This is great news if this update actually happens. It saves me doing my monthly drive to the Bank Branch and having to have the same stupid conversation with the 60 year bank teller who wants to know why Google is paying me money... well actually the conversations are normally pretty interesting but wasting 45 minutes of my day driving there and waiting in Bank lines is just annoying - plus it requires getting dressed in the morning :p.

This is great news. I have not reached my first 100 yet, but have a few questions to my fellow Aussies here...

With the original option (which I chose) to recieve a cheque, I chose Aussie currency, thinking it would help avoid bank fees for currency conversion etc.

Was that a good decision, or does it make no diff?

Also, with this new eft option, should I leave the payments as 'Aussie currency', or 'US currency'? Just not sure of the pros and cons...

    Appreciate any advice.

    Thanks,

    Darren.

Well I used to have my cheques posted in AUS$ - like you said it save the $15 (or whatever it was) conversion fee, not to mention banks rarely give a "fair" price - that said I'm not too sure how Google fairs in comparison.

As for the EFT option - I'm opting for AUS$ again, but seeing this has only just been realised and I'm not even verified myself I don't really think I'm a position to comment, but I'm assuming that you will be better off receiving your earnings in the actually currency that you will spending it with - well that is my logic.

this month us aussies will get paid twice in the same month:D :D

I'm guessing the EFT for april will go thru on the 25th of this month.

Yep, its a good decision. Google dos'nt scam you on the currency conversion, it fee free.

Wouldn't that be sweet. I normally get paid around the 13th when receiving payments by check, so getting a couple of healthy kicks to the bank account would be great - just thinking about it brings a smile to my face - :D. It's so great to be an Aussie.

Doesn't matter what currency you have set, with EFT, the big G will convert to your bank accounts currency/countries currency.

EFT is in local currency. No option to select $US currency, but Google does have a good exchange rate - unlike PayPal who skim off the top.
