Yeah too right! Search Engines should simply guide surfers to websites that have the information they want by, as they do now, displaying choice snippets relevant to their search so people know the page contains what they are after. If Google ever stop being merely the broker in this deal they will seal their fate. Pete
Often times, improved technologies do not align with the current business model. But, I would not be surprised at all if G were to push the envelope just a bit and introduce yet another 'beta' just to determine webmaster and advertiser reaction. /tom/
This can be rephrased as: "We at Google want searchers to find the answer to their question, click on our ads, and make us more money by never visiting a website. The longer a visitor stays on google.com the more revenue potential we have from that user. Therefore, this technology is for us. We however 100% deny that we are just stealing a webmasters content and displaying it on google.com."

definitely shouldn't be called "Google's new algo"... They liked something and bought it...just like they have done with a bunch of other technology and websites.
