mmm I think you might be right. I'm pretty sure i did. But an ABN is very easy to get and free.
I will digg around and see what other info the buyer will need.

Currently one needs and ABN to purchase an Aussie TLD. When the website is purchased, the ABN passes to the new owner along with the domain. Now, this may sound simple, but if the ABN owner has debts tied to this ABN, then these are passed to the new owner...EEEK!!! However, in the not to distant future, I believe this will be changed and the .com.au market opened up to all and sundry to purchase without an ABN.
