Lately, I've been tracking my site visitors quite much and I am trying to study the information from AwStats about my site visitors that are coming and I am not sure what exactly is doing it but I feel "accomplished a bit" that in 3 days (and keep in mind my site is BRAND NEW) has gotten 48 unique visitors and 61 page visits. In my opinion, I think this is quite good. I submitted to some quality directories but I am not sure if thats whats bringing them. It says a majority of it is coming from here at DigitalPoint which isn't a bad a thing, but how can I expand and expect to see some progress? By the end of August, my goal is to be getting 45-50 unique visitors a day. What's the best way to go about doing this? I already have submitted to some search engines, just awaiting inclusion? I also am working on getting the mailing list up as well.
To get the exact stat of your site i would recommedn you to use statcounter. I have been using it and have been gettin traffic details.
^^I would but I prefer having a web analytics on my server, just my personal preference. Although AwStats isn't my favorite, it'll do for now, once I am able to save some money, then I'll buy a commercial one with much promising features. Anymore replies on this topic?
Submit to social bookmarking sites. If you have good content on your site, that will bring in visitors. Do you have any traffic from the search engines ? Try and optimize your site so that you rank well for your keywords......SE' s are the biggest source of traffic. It might take time to rank since your site is new, but in the long run, your hard work will pay off......
If you did not have traffic before the three days you mentioned, it might be a good trend. The site is picking up and you probably need to keep doing what you are doing to put the site out there.
gr8liverpoolfan: Can you tell me specifically what you mean by "social bookmarking?" It interests me to be honest but I can't say I know what it is. How would you propose I optimize my site for the search engines? I did some keyword research and chose some keywords I felt would do good but maybe 50% of them are words that are searched between 500-1000 a month but have maybe 1M-10M pages indexed. Should I re-think my strategy? Or should I keep with this approach of keywords I have now and take the approach of adding in keywords that are targeted highly but don't have many sites indexed? Right now I'm trying to curve my blog entries from here on now to target the keywords specifically. Not to necessarily spam the entires with my keywords in hopes of higher ranking, just add in more words that are "keyword related." I should've done this before releasing but I didnt, so hey, more challenge for me Lastly, I also need to modify my keywords for my entry pages and maybe get ranked for them as well. theo: Thank you for the comment(s) Right now I am setting up to do a massive traffic boost strategy. This includes commenting blogs, link trading, search engine optimizing, directory submissions, and now social bookmarking sites, and a few more other things. All will be quality sites though in order to keep down the "SPAM" levels IF ANY. Does that sound fair enough.
firstly , i suggest you to use google analitics to know your visitors. you must focus on finding backlinks to get more visitors
