Auditing links.htm page

I have a links.htm page that I hadn't checked for ages. Now I have found that many of those I originally linked to are not linking back to me.

Am I losing out due to me passing them pagerank and them not passing it back to me? If I delete the "offenders" could this possibly boost my sites pagerank?

    Thanks,

    Jon

You are probably not getting much benefit (from Google at least) from link trades anyway.

probably. Send them an e-mail ultimatum that you will remove it if your link isn't back up.

It won't boost your page rank by deleting them but you could be boosting theres since they are not returning the favour ask them to link back or delete their links.

Wont you suffer from "PR leakage" by passing PR to their site and so lose it from your own?

in my opinion, if they are not linking to your site, it's not neccesary to link them

I'm sure this goes on a LOT. Think about it...how often do you check your reciprocal links after setting them up? Not often..especially if there's a lot.

Setting up link exchanges and removing them after a couple of months sounds like a dodgy black hat tactic to me. Delete the links to these culprits!
