At the momment I think the article may be fake. I don't think a company like ebay would want to buy auctionads if there keeps being problems with the site. AuctionAds went down again today and left sites to hang including mine. I'm glad it was the quiet period for my site and it's only being tested on my smallest site. Hope it is back up now and all works out. Shoemoney has put alot of time, money and effort into this program so I hope it really works out for him.
