Auction system sounds like an alright idea but I accidentally voted no. Anyway, as long as it doesn't intrude on the user-forum compatibility, then it's fine.
It would definitely could down on having to say "Pm me url" posts. URL's could be made into images (maybe?) then robots and the like wouldn't pick them up...

Of course he cares about the forum! He just adds / makes changes when it's necessary to do so. Keeps the forums from having tons of useless functions we'll never use
