    well, technically, bids should not be acceptable via pm. The auctioneer should insist that the bidder (via PM) post his offer on the auction thread, to keep things transparent.

    BTW, the screenshot you just gave for for PM suggests that the bidder is too new at DP (1 post).
    I have seen such cases where someone registers and offers a good amount and then he's nowhere to be found!

    Anyway, It's your choice. ;)
