read up in the thread. People are talking about the display issues over the weekend. If ads dont display - people wont be clicking them. Read the thread, the answers are right there if you read. I dont work for AA.
But as the last person stated, if you are using the URL tool then the user wouldn't see any ads displaying just something like "Buy Ipod phones" and the user would click and go the ipod page on ebay. Therefore, the user click numbers should be the same. There are 100% reporting issues right now.
Also, the display issue was fixed yesterday afternoon. The click issue hasn't been fixed. The click issue also happened before the ads all went completely blank. And yes, I use the URL converter A LOT. So there is definitely a click reporting issue.
My stats for the month: Reports 2 clicks a few days ago, then 4 clicks then 5. Although earnings seem to be rolling as normal. I use the CJ system too (I like to diverysify as much as possible) but that's for some much more targeted websites that target individual products. I find Auctionads works quite well on my more mainstream high traffic sites (albeit the reporting has been crap & the earnings in August were next to nothing).
Nice numbers, looks like the click reporting is now working. Curious, have you had any ebay sign-up referrals on your account with AA?
Reporting does seem to be working today but the numbers from the last two days have not been corrected. Oddly I have never had any sign-up referrals on AA. Last month I had 6 sign ups on CJ but I never had a day with $25 or more on AA so it would seem I've not had a single referral through AA in the 4 months I've been using them. The main reason I switched to AA was that when it started Shoe mentioned in his blog that it would act as one large affiliate so all members would benefit from the higher tier payouts regardless of how much you made in commissions that month. I've never seen wording to that affect on the AA site but I took his word for it. Otherwise I had no problem with the CJ system. Now I'm wondering if it's worth the trouble. At least with CJ everything is much more transparent. When I get a Performance Incentive it's listed as one. On AA I've been assuming that the unexpected jump in income once a month in the <none> category is the performance incentive. I also like how on CJ you can see the completed auctions your referrals are winning. On AA I have no way of knowing what my visitors are buying. With AA I feel like I'm in the dark about a lot of what's going on even when it's working.
For the record I did have 55 members under me, which now seems to have dwindled to 36 or so. No idea how much they're contributing to the above earnings.
I am curious. IF you are so disappointed with Auction Ads, why not just use the Ebay affiliate directly?
That's exactly what I'm going back to. I always made more money off of new sign ups than auction winners. I'm tired of dealing with the poor CTR's and never knowing what's going to show up in the ads. TxDon
AA is nothing more than a CJ/ebay affiliate. By combining everyone into one account they can hit higher payout tiers. In theory, even after AA takes a cut we would still make more than by using CJ/ebay directly. Its a moot point until AA resolves all the issues. Ebay payout: http://affiliates.ebay.com/ns/Payout.htm
Wow -- you must be advertising some more expensive good or your clickers buy a lot of stuff. I have hundreds of clicks a day and only make about $8-$13 a day...
I used to make a few hundred bucks with auctionads but now I'm making nothing (well $1 here or there). Only running it on sites where I've space left over or where the ads actually look good to have there. Sending loads of clicks and giving 60k impressions per day but making nothing. I've got no idea why it suddenly went from a few hundred bucks a month to maybe $5, from one month to the next.
