Most of the initial traffic to my blog came from the sites I’ve commented on, it was very surprising to see that some of the comments I made on sites like Problogger, DailyBlogTips and Shoemoney drove upto 30 visitors each in just 24 hours and that time this was a very high traffic for me and made up to 90% of my total blog traffic. Commenting can be a strong method of advertising if done right. It also helps when you bookmark your articles on social media websites too! You can get so much traffic doing things correctly.
commenting always plays a major roll in your traffic. Most of the people would be tempt while reading the blog or article and are curious to read the comments of that particular blog or article. Through this you may get a good traffic as much your comment is relevant and quality.
yes it is a good method to get traffic and backlinks.. You should make a list of high traffic do follow blogs in your niche and post high quality comments on them.. Do it for a few days and you should see good traffic and improved search engine rankings
The traffic from other blogs is inconsistent. Even the traffic from social bookmarking sites is inconsistent. Traffic from search engine is still the best. However, i do agree that blog commenting is a great way to get one-off traffic, and quality backlinks.
reply to johnta to search for blogs to comment is quite easy but to get the ones that will give you backlinks.some sites are do follow while some are no follow so to get the ones that will give you do follows why google really love and also backlinks is to go to commenthunt.com search engine or dofollo.com to search for the keywords you are targetting.most of the time you get blogs you can comment on.
You could get a lot more traffic when the blog is ranking high for keywords that get thousands of visitors per day.
Just make sure that when the visitors come to your blog that you a way of catching their attention and turning them into regular visitors. Be sure to have a rss feed and follow me on twitter / facebook logo in a prominant position. Have the seth godin plugin installed so the end of every post has a link to your RSS, and also have a relevant ebook that you can give away in exchange for their email address. Doing these steps may be tedious, but if you look at all the high traffic blogs they will have these, so just copy the best rather than re-inventing the wheel!
