Washington State Attorney General Sues Internet Advacement. Word on the street is for 3.5 Million.

This company gave search engine optimization a bad name from day 1.

I Can't speak for everyone... but GO ATTORNEY GENERAL! :D

“Despite our 2004 lawsuit and Internet Advancement’s promise to provide good customer service, we’ve received more than 60 additional complaints from customers that are small businesses,” McKenna said. “We will not tolerate Internet Advancement doing business in this manner.”

The owners of this company should be rotten in jail....
That's why it is always good to do your own promotion if you have time, or pay someone who personally knew to do this...

Ok, so the word up here in Seattle about Internet Advancement is that they are all but completely out of business. I've heard that there is an injuction forcing them to immediately stop selling SEO and they are in court on Jan 18th. While that may be the case, BeyondSearch.com is the new head of this snake. They are owned by the same people and sell PPC management, "optimized content" and "traffic". Pay attention and anyone who is interested, take a look at what they are about. This has a very small degree of seperation from InternetAdvancement.com, but it's enough for their owner Dwayne Walker to dodge the AG for now. This is also a hussle and BeyondSearch is expected to buy InternetAdvancement's client base. Same owners and same ethics, just under another name.

    Hello Everyone,
So InternetAdvancement.com has decided to end it's partnership with Dwayne Walker and beyondsearch.com. As of yesterday the founders of InternetAdvancement fired and had security escort out President & CEO Dwayne Walker, Head of Comprehensive Content Dustin Tywman and head of traffic sales Meghan Blanchard as well as Human Resources Director Harry Jackson!! It was pretty funny to see the looks on their faces and I have to say this decision deserves a slap on the back for the owners/founders. Apparently they are finally sick and tired of the way the company has been demolished in recent years. It may be too little, too late, but at least the founders (Ernest Villamore, Ken Committee and Todd Wickham) can now make decisions that might benefit their clients once again (we hope!). That may be too much to ask for and only time will tell, but at least the main people responsible for the horrible ethics and tactics used at this company have been ousted once and for all. Well done Ken and Ernest. Now lets see if you can create a product that really helps a few websites for a change. We'll be watching

Well, that's for guaranteeing SEO results to people. How can you promise "number 1 spot in Google for <top keyword>" when you have no clue how much money your competition is investing? If you invest 100k and your competition invests 150k, it's obvious your guarantee will fail.

This is great. Finally someone is nailing an seo company that doesnt live up to their promises. Now if only the good seo companies out there that do get top 10 rankings have someone that will fight for them when their clients just leave them after getting their site ranked in top 10.

Top SEO companies don't offer guarantee in rank, but in traffic. Just ask Aaron Wall for example to guarantee you a number 1 spot for some top keyword, I'm sure he'll get a good laugh.

3.5 millions is a lot. I'd rather do 1 year in a low security prison than pay 3.5 millions!
